update made game uncompatible with my computer

this is an amazing game, but i can no longer play it. If the developers patch this i will gladly write a 5 star review. I am hoping this gets resloved soon, i don’t like spending $20 on games i can’t play
Problem: when launched, the game goes to its set up menu for you to adjust the settings, then i start the game and it goes to a black screen. the only way to close the game is to force quit it. I have played the game so i know that it is compatible with my computer, regardless of the quality settings.
